• My best friend is obsessed with Patrick and I got this for her! She loves it and it is very soft to touch and fluffy stuffed. He is shipped in a small box and all the air is squeezed out of him so maybe open him up and let him fluff up a bit before giving it as a present. He is a good and large size, but note that he is not round and spherical as the picture suggests. This is not a bad thing, just wanted to let others know! In the picture he looked spherical to me. He is still round and fluffy but not quite spherical. My friend loves it and It is a very good looking doll!

During holiday seasons when I taught preschool, I always tried to find the best books possible that explained the origins of the holiday, why it is celebrated, and how people celebrate the holiday today. For St. Patrick's Day, Gail Gibbons ST. PATRICK'S DAY is the best book I have ever come across that gives a thorough explanation of the holiday for young children. The first part of the book explains who St. Patrick was and why St. Patrick's Day is celebrated. The last part of the book describes ways the people (especially in the United States) celebrate the holiday and the meaning of some of the symbols. There is also a kind of epilogue to the main story that briefly describes some of the legends about St. Patrick. Each page of the book only has a few, simple, straight-forward, and easy to read sentences accompanied with large and playful illustrations. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to explain to young children about St. Patrick's Day.
